Deputy Minister for Policy

Mr. Ahmad Shafiq Qarizada

Mr. Shafiq Ahmad Qarizada deputy minister for policy of Ministry of Finance was born on 25th March 1965 in an intellectual family of Laghman Province, Qarghaee district.

He is graduated from Naderia high school of Kabul and has Master Degree in General Management Preston University of Islamabad Pakistan.

Due to his ability and work experiences, He worked on different governmental and nongovernmental positions. He has great ability in projects planning, financial, human resources and procurement fields. He participated more than 15 international workshops and seminars and has great achievements in this regards.

His achievements are appreciable in different positions. He worked as an internal audit, monitoring and evaluation general director and strategic implementation acting deputy minister in the Ministry of Finance, coordinator education quality improvement program and head of education infrastructure program, senior program advisor to the minister of education and head of national literacy programs in the Ministry of Education. He remained as a senior program advisor to the Minister and task manager Microfinance Investment Facility for Afghanistan (MISFA), Assistant Country Director (Head of Promotion of Sustainable Livelihood Unit), Senior National Coordinator for Project Services of United Nations Development Program. Mr. Qarizada served in different organizations as a Senior Program Advisor to the Ministry of Public Works, Regional Manager for United Nations, National Program Manager for Joint UN Reintegration Program Unit, Program Officer of Afghanistan Rural Rehabilitation Program and Program Manager for Agency Coordinating Body for Afghan Relief(ACBAR) in Peshawer Pakistan.

Mr. Qarizada joined many international seminars during his services, likely; Policy and Operation UNDP Program in USA, Millennium Development Goals Workshop in Cambodia, Socio-economic and Mine Action Workshop in Bangkok, Microfinance Conference, and Adolescence Education Conference in India, Afghanistan International Investment Conference in UAE, Regional Policy workshop and Anti-corruption for Afghanistan in Singapore and visit to organizations for economic cooperation and development in Paris, France.

He knows Pashto, Dari, English and Urdu and has familiarity with computer programs.
